Ambulances

I guess Ana can do everything once, and she cashed in her ticket to go in an ambulance. On December 4th, both Ana and Dustin got sick. They both felt and sounded terrible. On Sunday, I was in tears Ana was just so sick. I stayed up all night making sure she didn't get any worse, and as soon as the sun came up I hauled her into Twisp to see the doctor. We were only there about 10 minutes and the doctor called 911, he was concerned Ana was going to stop breathing.
They gave her two breathing treatments before we got in the ambulance, then we were off to Brewster to the hospital. She continued to get treatments every four hours through the day and night, and the following afternoon they let us go home. It was incredibly scary.
She lost a bit of weight, but her spunky personality snapped back within a week or so. Because she was so sick so close to her first birthday, the doctor recommended we postpone her party until she had built her immune system back up.
I hope we will never have to take another ride in an ambulance.
