Growing UP

I feel like our role as parents is beginning to be tested.
Ana is on the move and she also is developing a personality.
She makes things interesting by turning on the charm or throwing down in order to get "her" way.

Pumpkins

To celebrate Ana's first halloween, we decided to take a trip to the pumpkin patch with our cousins. Ana, Lola and Lizzy had fun playing with each other

while the parents had fun posing them with pumpkins.

The Commute

Well, this is a snap shot of our beautiful commute to work (until the snow arrives). We love it. It takes about 3 hours, but we are fortunate that we only need to drive in every couple weeks. Our time in Mazama is so special, it is something we will never forget.

Swinging

Today, we spent the morning in Winthrop and ran a few errands... errands as in taking Ana to the park for her very first ride on the swings. She loved it.
Tomorrow we are heading over the pass to work for a few days, and I heard we might see snow, yikes. Fall is definitely in the air, but I'm not quite ready for snow.

Exploring the beach

This past weekend, we went to Grandma Becky's to have fun on the beach. Ana got to play in the sand, pick up rocks, meet Grandma and Grandpa's new dog London, watch daddy fish, and witness the adults eat of lot of yummy food.

Living in the woods

Our driveway to the river... basically, this is our new front yard. We are having so much fun playing outdoors!

New Address

With only a couple weeks of planning and packing, the Rubey's have officially moved to the cabin in Mazama. We kicked off our first weekend with Ana's first rodeo, and several hikes around the Methow Valley. Ana loves being outdoors.

Grandpa's Farm

This is Ana's first visit to Grandpa's Farm on Lopez Island. We had fun playing, and Ana even got to attend her first square dance. Ana would like me to get it in writing that Grandpa will buy her a pony someday.

Heat Wave

We're having another heat wave. Thank goodness Ana's best friend Sophie invites her over to play in the pool. Sophie likes to splash and make waves, and Ana likes to eat pool toys.

So Hot

Seven months old, and it's mid July... it's so hot. Despite the 90 degree temperature out, my baby girl does not go anywhere without her favorite blankie. This month we made our first family trip to our cabin in the woods. Ana loved it, seriously, there is not a whole lot that Ana doesn't love.

Spoon

I can't believe my baby is six months.  I feel like I say that every month, but this seems huge.  I'm sure this will be Ana's favorite month ever... the month she was given a spoon.  She ate like a pro from the very first time.  Now Mommy gets to make lots of fun food for Ana to try out, starting with sweet potatoes.

Feed Me

Ana's five month birthday.  I'm sure she would have devoured the cupcake if I would have let her... that day will be here soon enough.  She is changing so much, unfortunately, the biggest change is her feeding schedule.  My perfect little sleeper has started waking every hour to eat, yes, I did say every hour.  My brain is destroyed, but Ana is sure healthy and happy.

Alert

I think this is the month Ana became aware of the world, and she didn't want to miss a thing.  The photo attached is of Ana with her favorite cousin Lola (Merrilee's daughter who was born 3 weeks after Ana).  They love each other!

Easy baby

Month three was fun.  Ana slept great both day and night.  She smiled all the time, laughed in her sleep, and occasionally while she was awake.  Her first laugh made me cry... she was in her crib playing and listening to the song Tricycle by Frances England (her favorite CD) and she looked at me and giggled.  I love being a Mama.

Two months in...

This is the month Ana learned to smile.  We would do everything in our power to get a reaction from her, which definitely put Dustin and I in the dorky parent's club.  Month two was also the month that all three of us fell in love with her Lambie Swing... PRICELESS.  The biggest challenge with month two was how to style that crazy hair of hers.

First 30 days

What a great time of year to have a baby...  twelve inches of snow on the ground and a daytime high temp of 14 degrees.  We managed with the help of a warm bear suit and lots of snuggley blankets.
Ana was a good baby from the start, if anything, I was the one who got a little colicky and emotional in the evenings.

Two Rubey's becomes three!

It is no secret, Dustin and I had a baby girl on December 19th, 2008. I'm new to blogging, but am looking forward to sharing our life via the internet with good friends and family.  We hope this blog will reflect our happiness and the adventure that is just beginning...

Arrrfff! Arrrfff!

First a baby steals all my attention, now I'm left out of the family?Excuse me, what about the six wonderful years we've shared together.Seriously, I've given you the best years of my life, and you don't consider us the four rubey's?  Besides, how many dogs can blog.... I'm practically human!
